Flight Mode

Hello world! How are you doing? Gosh, can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I last posted on here! I was feeling pretty uninspired when it came to my blog and I didn’t want to upload random posts just for the sake of it. It wasn’t things to blog about that I was lacking inspiration from, it was actually more related to photography. As you know, my blog focuses mainly on beauty things with the odd fashion or life update post, but my beauty pictures were becoming a bit same-y and that’s something that was annoying me, massively. To me photography plays such an important role in blogging, sometimes even more than what people write - of course it depends what the post is about, but yes, pictures can make or break a post. So there you go, that’s the reason I’ve been absent for so long, however, I recently spent the most amazing seven days in Rhodes with my other half and he was the best boyfriend ever and took loads of pictures, and I am now feeling so inspired and excited to share them with you!

Since the title of this post is called Flight Mode and me being a Cabin Crew, I thought it was only fitting that I share with you my top five travel tips.

1. Bring noise cancelling headphones / ear plugs
If you’ve ever forgotten your headphones or ear plugs, you will know that there’s nothing worse! Being stuck on a flight where all you want to do is chill, maybe even sleep a little, but have people shouting, babies crying, engine noise, and hearing announcements from the crew (non-safety related) can be so annoying and really ruin your inflight experience.

2. Bring your own food & drinks
Let’s face it, plane food isn’t all that great. There are airlines that provide you with food, but others do not, and you will have to purchase it onboard for quite a high price, not to mention that they sometimes run out so you probably won’t get what you wanted. Always buy something at the airport and never forget to bring water! A big bottle if possible.

3. Bring something to keep you warm
We’ve all been there! We’ve all been on a flight where it all of a sudden got freezing cold and the crew didn’t have any blankets. I always make sure I bring a hoodie or a jumper to wear if this ever happens. I also always wear a t-shirt as it can sometimes get boiling hot. My point is, make sure you’re prepared for any eventualities.

4. Bring your skincare
Always! Maybe this is isn’t such an essential if you’re on a very short flight, but if it’s longer than 3h, or if you’ve just come back from a sunny holiday, I would highly suggest bringing some sort of moisturiser. I usually take my face cream, eye cream and a travel size body lotion.

5. Put all your documents in a pouch
Passports and boarding passes get checked so many times that it helps if you have them all in one place for easy access. Especially for us women, we carry around so many things in our Mary Poppins bag, that it’s sometimes hard to find what we’re looking for. If you have all your travel documents in one little pouch, it’ll mean that you’re less likely to lose them and you’ll always be able to find them when needed.

What are some of your travel tips?

  2. SUCH good tips. I wish I had known these when I started traveling--especially the bit about keep documents all in one place. I was a disorganized mess at the start!
